US warplanes conducted fresh airstrikes across Yemen Sunday evening, heavily targeting the capital Sanaa and multiple governorates throughout the country.
The aerial assault included two precision strikes on Sanaa’s Attan area in the southern part of the capital, with US aircraft maintaining a continued presence in the airspace overhead. The human toll was immediately apparent, as Yemen’s Ministry of Health reported 12 fatalities and 30 injuries resulting from strikes that hit the Farwah neighborhood and a popular market in Sanaa’s Shu’ub District.

The bombardment extended well beyond the capital. In Marib governorate to the northeast, US forces launched three separate airstrikes targeting the al-Jubah district. Simultaneously, Kamaran Island in the western Hodeidah governorate came under aerial attack.
The overnight campaign continued relentlessly, with five strikes hitting the northern Saada governorate just after midnight. Within the hour, al-Mahwit Mountain and ‘Amran governorate also faced bombardment. By Monday morning, American forces had renewed their offensive, targeting the Sirwah district in Marib.
These escalating attacks come in direct response to Yemen’s declared support for Palestinians amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Yemen’s armed forces and the Ansar Allah movement have taken a firm stance against what they describe as Israel’s genocidal war, prompting intensified US military action against Yemeni targets, including civilian infrastructure.
