Early Wednesday morning, air raid sirens echoed through northern occupied Palestine as the Israeli occupation forces reported attempts to intercept a missile launched from Yemen. The alarm sent Israeli settlers scrambling for safety as they heard a series of explosions, with reports indicating that the missile likely targeted the Ramat David Air Base, located south of Haifa.
In a related development, Israeli media stated that local residents experienced “twenty explosions in the area” during the incident. This escalation comes on the heels of US airstrikes on Yemen, which were reported on Tuesday evening, targeting the al-Salem district in the northern city of Saada.
In an aggressive campaign, US-led strikes also targeted Kamaran Island in the Red Sea and the al-Salif District in western Yemen, raising concerns over civilian casualties, including women and children, amidst ongoing military operations.
Adding to the tensions, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced the successful downing of a US-made MQ-9 Reaper drone off Hajjah province, claiming it was engaged in “hostile missions” within Yemeni airspace. This incident marks a significant moment, as it is the seventh drone downed in April and the 22nd since the beginning of what Yemen calls the “Promised Conquest and Sacred Jihad” campaign.

In response to the Israeli assaults in Gaza and the ongoing US-UK military actions in Yemen, the Yemeni Armed Forces have ramped up their attacks on Israeli, American, and British interests in the Red Sea and adjacent regions. As the situation in Gaza grows increasingly dire, Yemen has implemented a strategic blockade of crucial maritime routes, aiming to disrupt military supply lines and urge the international community to address the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared that their operations will persist until Israel ceases its ground and aerial offensives against Gaza, signaling a deepening conflict in the region.
