Two people were martyred and ten others were injured early on Friday, in a new Israeli aggression on Lebanon, this time of the eastern region of Bekaa.
“The strike by the Israeli enemy on Janta killed two people and wounded 10,” Lebanese Health Ministry announced on Friday.

The village of Janta area lies close to the Syrian border and the area was already hit by Israeli strikes on January 13.

Israeli occupation army claimed the attack on Bekaa’s Janta, alleging that the targets which were struck include a “Hezbollah site containing underground infrastructure.”
However, the occupation army said it “continues to remain committed to the ceasefire understandings between Israel and Lebanon.”
The Israeli enemy has been violating the ceasefire with Lebanon since it took effect on November 27, with the occupation army launching aerial and ground attacks targeting several areas across Lebanon, especially the southern region and Bekaa.
The Israeli enemy was supposed to complete its army’s withdrawal from Lebanon by January 26 under the ceasefire. However, it refused to do so, prompting the Lebanese southerners to flock into southern border villages on that day and liberate a number of towns in epic confrontations that left at least 24 martyrs on Sunday and Monday (January 26-27)..
The withdrawal deadline was then extended to February 18, a move that was announced by Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister, and categorically refused by Hezbollah, as declared by Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem during a televised speech on Monday (January 27).
