The Government Media Office reported that with these two new massacres, the Israeli occupation has bombed and targeted 172 shelter centers, housing tens of thousands of displaced people, since the onset of the genocide. Among these centers are 152 schools, including both government schools and those run by the UN Relief and Works Agency.

The office reported that “the number of martyrs who have died in schools has exceeded 1,040. These ongoing massacres are part of the continuous crimes committed by the occupation against our Palestinian people for ten months in a row.”

“It is noteworthy that the Israeli occupation army has been heavily targeting and bombing civilians displaced within schools as well as other civilian gatherings, particularly in areas it claims to be ‘safe zones.’ This deliberate and premeditated strategy aims to cause maximum civilian casualties,” the office noted.

Horrific scenes have emerged from northern Gaza today following the Israeli bombardment of two schools sheltering displaced Palestinian families.

These massacres are unfolding as the Israeli occupation forces deliberately cripple the healthcare system by destroying and burning hospitals, leaving them out of service. Medical staff in the Gaza Strip face overwhelming pressure with limited surgical facilities and severe shortages of supplies, while border closures prevent the evacuation of the wounded and sick, and fuel remains blocked from entering.
