Hezbollah offered condolences over martyrdom of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in a helicopter crash in northwestern Iran.
In a statement released on Monday, Hezbollah Media Relations declared that the Lebanese resistance group said it “extends its deepest condolences and sympathy” for the loss of “President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyed Ebrahim Raisi, our dear brother Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic Dr. Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Representative of Imam Khamenei in the province of Azerbaijan Ayatollah Sayyid Mohammad Ali Al-Hashem, and the other esteemed brothers.”
Hezbollah hailed martyred President Raisi as “a great brother, a strong support, and a firm defender of the nation’s causes, on top of which is the Palestinian cause.”
“He was an advocate of the resistance movements and their fighters in all the positions he assumed. He was also a sincere and honest servant to the dear people of Iran and the lofty Islamic Republic, a loyal ally to Imam Khamenei (God protect him) and a great hope for all the oppressed people,” the Hezbollah statement read.
The Lebanese resistance movement also paid tribute to Amir Abdollahian, describing the top Iranian diplomat as “an active, dedicated, and sacrificial minister, a holder of the banner (of justice) in all political and diplomatic forums across the world, a lover of resistance movements, and devoted to supporting and aiding them.”
