The Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip has now reached its 123rd consecutive day, resulting in a devastating toll on the region. Tens of thousands have been killed or wounded, with two million people displaced and more than half of the buildings in the Strip severely damaged.
Amidst the ongoing conflict, Israeli warplanes continue to relentlessly bombard the homes of innocent civilians. The people of Gaza now face additional hardships due to the cold and rainy weather, as well as the spread of diseases, and a scarcity of food and water.
In the latest act of violence, Israeli occupation warplanes conducted fierce airstrikes on the southern areas of Khan Yunis and the city of Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip. Tragically, six civilians lost their lives and others were injured when a residential apartment in Tower D6, located in Hamad City, northwest of Khan Yunis, was targeted by the occupying forces.

Earlier today, Israeli warplanes launched air strikes on the southern parts of Khan Yunis. Palestinian sources reported that the occupation forces also engaged in artillery shelling in the central and western areas of Khan Yunis, with Israeli vehicles even penetrating these regions and firing upon the locals. The Nasser Medical Complex, situated west of Khan Yunis, was hit by shrapnel after nearby houses were subjected to Israeli artillery shelling.
Furthermore, an Israeli airstrike targeted a house in the Al-Dhahra area of Khan Yunis. The dire living conditions in the region, exacerbated by extreme cold weather, claimed the life of Fatima Shehadeh Zaqout, a displaced woman from Deir al-Balah, who succumbed to the cold and lack of adequate medical treatment.

In an effort to mitigate the suffering, the Palestinian Red Crescent announced the evacuation of all displaced individuals from Al Amal Hospital and the association’s headquarters in Khan Yunis yesterday evening. Only forty elderly displaced people remained, along with around 80 sick and wounded individuals, and one hundred members of the association’s administrative and medical staff. The Red Crescent described the conditions inside Al-Amal Hospital as “tragic for those who remained wounded.”
BREAKING| UN special rapporteur Francesca Albanese says Israel’s targeting of the humanitarian aid convoy is a flagrant IHL violation, which undermines desperate relief efforts and exacerbates human suffering, contrary to what ICJ ordered 12d ago.
