Protestors interrupted a congressional testimony of the US Secretaries of State and Defense dedicated to increasing support for Israel and Ukraine, screaming “save the children of Gaza” and “ceasefire now.”
Several people sat on Tuesday, October 31, in silence behind US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, raising their hands smeared with red paint to symbolize the murderous situation in Gaza.
Then, some of them started standing up from time to time to chant, “Stop shooting now.” One protester shouted, “Save the children of Gaza” and “Shame on you all,” while another demonstrator chose to wear a jacket that said, “Stop funding genocide.” Therefore, Blinken was forced to stop speaking many times before the demonstrators got kicked out of the hall by police.

US President Joe Biden urged Congress 10 days ago to approve the allocation of more than 105 billion dollars, including 14.3 billion dollars for Israel assistance. During the current session, two of Biden’s senior aides lobbied Congress to contribute billions of dollars more to Tel Aviv.
Biden further requested $14.3 billion for Israel, $9 billion for humanitarian relief in Israel and Gaza, $13.6 billion for US border security, and $4 billion in military aid and government funding to confront China’s efforts in the Asia-Pacific region. He also requested $61.4 billion for Ukraine, about half of which will be spent inside the United States to replenish weapons stockpiles depleted by previous support for Kiev.
