Hamas Palestinian resistance group applauded Libyan people and government over rejecting normalization with the Zionist entity, after news emerged during the weekend over a meeting between the country’s top diplomat and Israeli foreign minister in Italy.
In a statement on Monday, Hamas Spokesman Hazem Qassem said: “This broad rejection confirms Libya’s genuineness and allegiance to national issues on top of which is the Palestinian cause.”
The spokesman said such stances indicate that the Libyans consider Palestine “as the central cause of the Ummah (nation) and eye the Zionist entity as the primary enemy.”
In the same context, Hamas’ Qassem urged officials, people and syndicates across the Arab and Muslim world to escalate anti-normalization moves, noting that normalization activities harm the national interests of those states primarily, as they have dangerous impact on the Palestinian cause.
