In the early hours of Saturday, Israeli airstrikes hit several sites in the vicinity of Homs while violating Lebanon’s airspace. The Syrian air defenses responded swiftly by intercepting the missiles and shooting some of them down. The attack caused material damages, including several trucks and an oil tank vehicle, and left three civilians injured, according to Syria’s Defense Ministry.
This latest attack comes just days after Israel targeted the Qurs Al-Nafi site in Quneitra, Syria, with around 12 shells. Israel has repeatedly attacked Syrian civilian-populated areas and villages, including the countryside of Quneitra, prompting the Syrian air defenses to remain vigilant and ready to respond to any aggression against the country.
The Syrian air defenses had previously intercepted Israeli rockets that targeted the south of the Syrian capital, Damascus, back in late March 2023. It is worth noting that the Syrian city of Quneitra was declared free of terrorist forces in 2018 following the efforts of the Syrian Arab Army and its allies in thwarting the Western project in Syria.
