The Lebanese House Speaker Nabih Berri stressed on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported Lebanon, just as all the Arab countries, out of belief in Lebanon’s role and status.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the Iranian embassy in Beirut, Speaker Berri greeted the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini and the Leader of of the Islamic Republic Imam Khamenei.
Speaker Berri indicated that Lebanon is capable of structuring its regional and international ties in accordance with its interests, adding that the Lebanese nation appreciates the ongoing support of the brotherly countries.
Speaker Berri affirmed that all the Lebanese political parties are invited to prove maturity and independence in assuming the national and constitutional responsibilities.
