Lebanese activists are holding a gathering in the southern town of Naqoura to voice support to Lebanon’s right in defending its maritime wealth.
The event, dubbed ‘Our Wealth, a Red Line’, is to be held at 17:00 (Beirut time) on Friday, the organizing committee announced.
The aim of the gathering is to “shoulder our responsibility in defending Lebanon’s gas and oil,” the committee added.
Tensions have been soaring between Lebanon and the Zionist entity as the occupation regime started last month extracting oil and gas in Karish and other disputed maritime zones between the two sides.
Hezbollah Secretary General has repeatedly warned the Zionist entity against such move, with his eminence threatening last week that preventing Lebanon from extracting oil and gas off its shore could spark a war.
“If Lebanon is prevented from extracting its maritime resources, ‘Israel’ will not be able to extract or sell gas and oil,” Sayyed Nasrallah said, setting a new equation which he called ‘Beyond Karish’.
The Hezbollah secretary general’s new equation put the Zionist entity on a “silent mode”, with Israeli officials preferring to keep the way for the US so-called mediator, Amos Hochstein, to hold a new round of indirect talks with Lebanon and the occupation regime.
