Lebanese Army Commander General Joseph Aoun issued on Tuesday his Order of the Day on the Resistance and Liberation Day, in which he said that May 25, 2000 is a bright date in Lebanon’s history.
“May 25, 2000 is a bright date in Lebanon’s history and a landmark victory, after the Lebanese defeated the Israeli enemy and refuted the myth of its military superiority,” said General Aoun.
Addressing the soldiers, he said: “You are consecrating our right to confront the Israeli aggressions and to prevent the enemy from taking over our land and offshore wealth,” he underlined.
On May 25, 2000, the Israeli occupation army completed its withdrawal from most of the Lebanese territories, except Shebaa Farms and KfarShuba Hills, due to the heavy losses inflicted upon it from the Resistance strikes.
