Lebanese State Security patrols raided on Tuesday the Governor of Central Bank Riad Salameh’s office at the Banque Du Liban (BDL) and his two houses.
Local media reported that Lebanese State Security raided Salameh’s office and two homes in Rabieh and Keserwan, but noted that he was not found.
Media reports added that Director-General of State Security Major General Antoine Saliba was preparing a report on the raids to be submitted to Judge Ghada Aoun.
Judge Aoun had earlier issued a subpoena for Salameh after he failed to show up for interrogation sessions as part of her probe into misconduct initiated after Lebanon’s 2019 financial meltdown.
