Lebanese President Michel Aoun urged the International community to exert efforts in a bid to put an end to the sufferings of the Palestinian people.
In a message on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, President Aoun said the Palestinian people must get back their rights and return to their homeland, as stipulated by international laws.
“Palestinian refugees have been undergoing hard conditions,” the Lebanese president said, noting that such conditions have also dramatically changed in several countries that host Palestinian refugees, including Lebanon.
“Lebanon witness unprecedented situation that affected the Palestinian families residing in the country since 1948.”
“Palestinian people’s sufferings have been rising inside Palestine and abroad. Palestinians in West Bank, Al-Quds and Gaza have been confronting Israeli threats on daily basis.”
The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is observed annually on or around 29 November.
The event includes special meetings at which statements on the question of Palestine are made by high-level officials of the United Nations and intergovernmental organizations and representatives of civil society.
