The Russian Space Agency approved granting Lebanon all the available images of Beirut port explosion on the day of the blast on August 4, 2020.
Al-Mayadeen News Network reported the Russian decision, adding that the images were captured before and after the blast.
On October 29, 2021, Lebanese President Michel Aoun had asked Russian ambassador Alexander Rudakov for satellite images from the explosion.
It is worth noting that the Lebanese authorities submitted the same request to US and France; however, the two Western States dismissed Lebanon’s demand.
On August 4, 2020, a massive blast rocked Beirut Port blast, killing around 195 citizens and injuring over 6000 of others. The explosion also caused much destruction in the capital and its suburbs.
