Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Hasan Fadlallah lashed out at the United States on Wednesday over meddling in probe into August 4 Beirut Port blast.
In remarks released by Hezbollah’s Media Relations Office, MP Fadlallah denounced US State Department’s interference in the probe as “a clear attempt to intimidate Lebanese officials in a bid to prevent them from putting probe on the right track.”
He pointed that US officials’ stances over the issue clearly oppose all those who call for refusing politicization of the probe.
“The US officials’ remarks are the apparent part of the extent of Washington’s direct interference aimed at diverting the course of the investigation in a bid to politically invest in the case and settle an account with the Resistance and its allies.”
“We are before a flagrant violation of the Lebanese sovereignty,” MP Fadlallah said, stressing that Washington aims at interfering in the investigation to dictate its own policies on the country.”
The Lebanese lawmaker noted, in this context, that the US has been trying in all means to settle its account with many sides in Lebanon, either through defaming their image or through economic blockade.
