A US convoy was targeted in the southern Iraqi province of Babil, local media reported on Friday.
The Telegram channel “Saberin News” reported that a US logistics convoy was targeted in Babil in the south, the third such attack on US forces in the last 24 hours.
Saberin News has said that the footage of the attack was recorded and will publish it as soon as it receives the scenes from the “Qassem al-Jabarin” group.
The new attack on the US troops comes a day after Iraqi sources reported yesterday that several US convoys had been attacked in al-Diwaniyah, Babil and al-Nasiriyah provinces in the country.
Dozens of attacks on US troops have been reported in the last months. A piece of legislation approved in the Iraqi parliament in early 2020 after the US assassination of Iranian and Iraqi Resistance commanders, General Qassem Suleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, near Baghdad airport in January 2020.
Calls for an end to the presence of the foreign troops in the country have escalated in the wake of assassination Suleimani and Al-Muhandis. However, the US withdrawal has yet to be fulfilled.
