Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Monday that Tehran is not after tension and war, but still cannot bow down to aggressive powers.
President Rouhani made the remarks during the inauguration ceremony of national projects of the Ministry of Defense.
Talks made it clear that if the US and other signatories fulfill their commitments with no exception, Iran will do it immediately after verification, the president noted.
And this is Islamic Republic of Iran’s clear message to US and Europe, he added.
As he stressed, fulfillment of commitments will bring constructive interaction, and peace and tranquility to both world and region.
Elsewhere, the president expressed satisfaction over Armed Forces’ efforts for self-sufficiency, and said the launching of Dena Destroyer is the sign of constant endeavors to gain self-reliance.
Then, the president praised Ministry of Defense for doing a great work in manufacturing two home-made destroyers for Army’s naval forces.
Through a video conference, Dena destroyer and Shahin minesweeper which are both indigenous joined naval forces of the Iranian Army on Monday.
At his remarks, the president referred to economic war against Iran during the past 3.5 years ago, and said the pressure and war could not bring the nation to its knees.
Then, he hailed the government and the nation who did great during the sanctions era and the pandemic.
About development of Iranian ports during the past eight years, the president said Bandar-e Jask in southern Iranian province of Hormuzgan will be soon turned into an important port suitable for exporting Iran’s oil.
He also pointed to building of the most modern military equipment during his tenure.
Speaking about Iran’s capabilities, the president said Islamic Republic is a power that can guarantee regional security.
To defend the country, Iran does not need any weapons of mass destruction because in the first place it is not after developing such weapons, the president noted.
About the country’s nuclear achievements, the president said Islamic Republic enriched uranium to 63 percent for the first time during the tenure of 12th government.
Iran enriches uranium; however, the country is not after nuclear weapons, he underlined.
Enrichment is for meeting the country’s medical and energy needs, said the president adding “Our activity is completely peaceful.”
