Well-informed sources told Al-Manar TV that visit of the French foreign minister, Jean-Yves Le Drian, to Lebanon is a mere announcement of the end of his country’s initiative to address the Lebanese political crisis.
The sources added that Le Drian did not plan to discuss the cabinet formation at all, noting that the French sanctions on Lebanese officials dominated over his talks in Beirut.
The Lebanese prime minister-designate, Saad Hariri, has failed to agree with President Michel Aoun the new government lineup since he was nominated by 65 MPs on October 22, 2020.
