Palestinians forces Israeli occupation police on Sunday to remove barricades in Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Old City, after days of clashes over Israeli restrictions to Al-Aqsa Mosque.
A few hundred Palestinians held a rally at the Damascus gate and police allowed them to remove barricades blocking access to the promenade.
There have been nightly disturbances since the start of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan on April 13, amid Palestinian anger over the blocked access.
Tensions rose on Thursday when far-right Israeli settlers marched to the Old City with chants of “death to Arabs”.
Over 100 Palestinians were wounded in clashes with police and dozens were arrested.
Skirmishes broke out again on Friday and Saturday. Palestinian Resistance groups, on Sunday, called on Palestinian people in Al-Quds to rally for the holy city and Al-Aqsa Mosque against the Israeli oppression.
