Hezbollah secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah affirmed on Tuesday that any call for International intervention under UN Charter VII is a ‘call for war’ and is unacceptable regardless of who proclaimed it.
In a speech commemorating the annual Hezbollah Martyred Leaders Day, entitled this year as “The resistance & People”, Sayyed Nasrallah declared that Hezbollah rejects calling for International intervention under UN Charter VII whatever the reason was, stressing that talking about internationalization also to resolve domestic issues harms Lebanon and its sovereignty and can pave the way for undesirable consequences.
“Internationalization is dangerous for Lebanon, it might be a cover for a new occupation and those calling for it intends to gain upper hand over Lebanese,” Sayyed Nasrallah said.
Campaign against Hezbollah Failed
Hezbollah leader said attempts to accuse Hezbollah of Lukman Slim’s killing was absurd, and rebuffed insults directed against the party as reflecting their weakness and depression. “Every time something takes place in Lebanon, accusations are levelled against us. Insults reflect the moral level of those directing them and show their weakness and impotence.”
Sayyed Nasrallah, however, calls on supporters not to respond to such insults: “We must be disciplined and act in accordance with our values and prophets’ teachings.”
“Legally, one is innocent until proven guilty, except for Lebanon, where Hezbollah is guilty until proven innocent. Should we apply this principle on other parties?” Sayyed Nasrallah wondered, adding that such accusations are a systematic and premeditated campaign that is being orchestrated in black rooms. “We have documents to prove this.”
“Some wonder if ‘Israel’ kills its own agents, well, go read in Israeli media on crimes committed by the Zionist entity against Jews for the purpose of serving its own interests,” the S.G. said. Such campaign, he said, only strengthens Hezbollah supporters’ conviction to defend the Resistance.
Beirut Blast Investigation Results
Concerning the Beirut Port Blast investigation results, Sayyed Nasrallah revealed that Hezbollah followed up with the Lebanese Army Forces and the Internal Security Forces apparatuses on the Port Blast investigation and urged them to announce results, “they said details can’t be revealed on the matter.”
“Announcing the results is important on the economic level, some insurance companies are cheating on people’s right of payments on pretexts related to the unknown cause of the explosion. Insurance payments amounts could reach 1.2 billion dollars.”
Formation of Lebanese Gov’t
Turning to the cabinet formation, Sayyed Nasrallah said previous accusations of no desire to form government are baseless, adding that allegations linking the stalemate to Iran’s nuclear file are ‘repetitive and of no value.’
“Everyone wants the government to be formed, we must not wait for foreign intervention,” His eminence said, adding that “holding only the President responsible is unfair.”
Sayyed Nasrallah criticized PM-designate Saad Hariri’s ‘insistence’ on the putting together of an 18-seat cabinet. “We understand the PM-designate’s stance on the ‘blocking one-third’ and his insistence on the interior portfolio, but we don’t understand his insistence on the 18 ministers.”
Hezbollah-FPM Understanding
Regarding the Hezbollah-FPM understanding, Sayyed Nasrallah said: “Over 15 years, Hezbollah-FPM understanding endured despite all expectations it might collapse. Both parts benefited from it equally and both want it updated. Criticism of the understanding in public by FPM personnel are being exploited, such talks shall be held in private.”
“US, ‘Israel’ have electronic armies on social media platforms that are initiating political, sectarian clashes among Lebanese. We must beware of this!” Sayyed Nasrallah stressed, warning that these virtual clashes might exert pressure on people, which might result in a domestic strife.
Post-Trump Era
Regionally, Sayyed Nasrallah said that several factors shall be considered after Trump’s departure and in light of the US administration’s change in policy: Iran’s nuclear issue, the Yemeni crisis and Syria. “The US’ top priority now is China and Russia; China is an economic threat to it.”
Concerning the Palestinian cause, His eminence said “No one is tackling the Deal of the Century now, US Secretary of State’s recent statements are indicators the deal is over, which is concerning to Saudi Arabia and the Zionist entity.”
“The Israeli regime is exaggerating the issue of normalization for political benefits, on the other hand, we see opposition in some Arab countries against their governments’ normalization with ‘Israel’,” Sayyed Nasrallah said. “Arab individuals who are boasting of their ‘Israel’ visits don’t represent the 1.5 billion Arabs and Muslims; those have even admitted of being paid to make such visits.”
Israelis Playing Dangerous Game
Sayyed Nasrallah responded to the Zionist Army Chief of Staff’s recent statement on the change in policy and tendency to target civilians have weapons been stored among their areas. “If you attack our towns and civilians, we’ll attack yours. You are an army state, so there’s no distinction whatsoever between Israeli soldiers and civilians.”
“We are not seeking a confrontation or war although certainly we won’t forget the blood of our martyrs,” Nasrallah said. “But should a confrontation take place, we will engage in it. I warn that even the game of ‘a few days of fighting’ will be a dangerous game for the Israelis and would lead them to undesirable consequences.”
“Should war erupt, Israelis will see events they haven’t witness since 1948. So, stop playing with fire. We are in the Resistance era.”
Martyred Leaders
Sayyed Nasrallah indicated at the beginning of his speech that the commemoration of the Martyred Leaders Day follows the 42nd anniversary of the Islamic revolution in Iran, which is an example on maintaining sovereignty and independence, and called on Bahrainis, who are marking 10 years since their revolution a couple of days ago, to return Bahrain to its previous position. “I salute the Bahraini people, and hope they make Bahrain normal again after the regime made it a base for normalization with the Israeli enemy.”
February 16 is the martyrdom anniversary of Hezbollah’s Leaders, Sheikh Ragheb Harb, Sayyed Abbas Al-Mousawi and Hajj Imad Mughniyeh, who were assassinated by the Zionist enemy throughout different years, but in the same week.
Sheikh Ragheb Harb was assassinated by an Israeli agent on February 16, 1984.
Late Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Abbas al-Mousawi was martyred, along with his wife and son, when an Israeli airstrike attacked his convoy as he was attending the commemoration anniversary of Sheikh Harb on February 16, 1992.
Later on February 12, 2008, Hezbollah’s top military commander Hajj Imad Mughniyeh was martyred in a car bomb attack in Syria carried out by Israeli Mossad agents.
