Lebanese Judge of Urgent Affairs of Baabda Court, Hassan Hamdan, issued a verdict on Thursday providing that Arabsat should re-broadcast the frequencies of Al-Manar TV anew “as soon as possible.”
“The Lebanese code of civil procedures allows the Judge of Urgent Affairs to look into any lawsuit regarding conflicts that emerged in his district of duty,” the judge decision read.
“This decision is provisional until the arbitration proceedings mentioned in Article-15 of the terms of the contract are done,” it added, however, the verdict is deemed urgent and entails immediate implementation.
Arabsat stopped the broadcast of Al-Manar TV last year without prior notice, noting that the Lebanese channel didn’t breach any term of the contract signed between the two parties.
Being loyal to its viewers, Al-Manar Board of Directories spared no legal effort since then to return the channel’s frequencies via the satellite in subject, especially that the TV has paid all its financial dues in advance.
