Lebanese President Michel Aoun discussed on Friday the indirect negotiations to demarcate Southern maritime borders with the US Ambassador Dorothy Shea and UN Special Coordinator in Lebanon Jan Kubis.
President Aoun met with Shea at Baabda Palace, and deliberated with her the Lebanese-US relations and methods of developing these relations, National News Agency reported, citing Presidency Press Office.
The meeting tackled the indirect negotiations to demarcate Southern maritime borders, which are ongoing at UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoora town, where a US representative participates as a mediator, NNA reported, adding that recent developments were also discussed in the meeting.
Separately, President Aoun met Kubis, who briefed him on the deliberations of the two rounds of indirect negotiations to demarcate Southern maritime borders, held last Wednesday and Thursday.
Kubis also briefed President Aoun on the positive atmosphere prevailing the negotiations, despite the presence of different points of view, which are under negotiations that will resume next month, according to NNA.
