French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday revealed that an international fundraising for Lebanon will be held soon to muster support for the battered country following a deadly explosive in the capital’s seaport.

“France, alongside America, the World Bank and the European Union, will organize an international conference in support for the Lebanese, with a view to collecting funds to provide medicines, food and housing commodities,” Macron said from the Pine Residence.

“I have told President [Michel] Aoun and [Speaker Nabih] Berri that it is important to rebuild trust and hope,” he indicated.

“I have been frank with the Lebanese leaders, and I am waiting for transparent answers to my questions which touched on different fields,” he said.

“I will return to Lebanon on September 1,” he announced.

Macron went on to say that CEDRE money was still available, pending the reforms and fight of corruption.

“A new political order must be reestablished and radical change is needed,” he underlined.
