The former US ambassador to Tel Aviv (29011-2017) Dan Shapiro considered that the involvement of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman (MbS) in murdering the journalist Jamal Khashoggi represents a catastrophe for ‘Israel’, adding that the Zionist entity interest lies in the US-Saudi alliance in face of Iran.
In an article exclusively published by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, Shapiro added that MbS committed an atrocious crime that has serious repercussions as it sets Saudi as an untrusted country and undermines the possibility of establishing an international consensus on exerting pressures on Iran, pointing that the Saudi crown prince suffers from strategic blindness.
“Except President Donald Trump, no one of the US and European politicians would meet bin Salman to discuss the Iranian issue with him.”
With respect to the US, the crime of murdering Khashoggi will not keep priceless because its repercussions will remain as long MbS is in power, according to Shapiro.
