Hezbollah – Unit for Arab and International Relations Statement – issued on Tuesday a statement which indicated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is not the party that withdrew from the 2015 nuclear agreement with the P5+1; “rather, it was the United States, under President Donald Trump, that tore up the agreement. Iran has not violated its commitments under the agreement, while the European troika (Britain, France, Germany) has failed to uphold theirs”.
Therefore, the troika’s move today to trigger the so-called “snapback” mechanism and reimpose international sanctions on Tehran exposes the complete lack of credibility and seriousness of these parties in handling sensitive international files, the statement added.
“Insisting on triggering the snapback mechanism, despite Iran’s cooperation through the recent agreement with the IAEA in Cairo, and despite the alternative of extending deadlines and allowing more negotiations and initiatives, reveals the integration and collusion between U.S. policies and the European troika’s policies in tightening the siege on Iran, imposing conditions, and depriving it of the benefits of the nuclear agreement. Moreover, the troika is directly and indirectly complicit in the U.S.–”Israeli” war on Iran, which was not solely aimed at destroying Iran’s nuclear capabilities as claimed, but at toppling the Islamic system and spreading chaos in Iran, as confirmed by “Israeli” leaders themselves.”
Statements by the German Chancellor during the war on Iran, saying “ ‘Israel’ is doing this dirty work on our behalf ”, combined with the lack of condemnation from most Western countries, including the troika, and even their expressed understanding of what they called “Israel’s” “right to self-defense,” reveal the extent of their involvement in the aggression, Hezbollah affirmed.
Meetings held in European capitals to discuss alternatives to Iran’s current system further confirm Western engagement in this criminal aggression aimed at undermining the Iranian system, destabilizing it, and destroying its defensive capabilities, Hezbollah statement added.
“The European troika’s move, fully coordinated with the United States and ‘Israel’, represents a continuation of the ‘dirty mission’ that ‘Israel’ began in its aggression against Iran. ‘Israel’ failed to achieve its objectives due to the legendary resilience of Iran’s leadership, people, and armed forces, which delivered an unprecedented lesson that forced ‘Israel’ to quickly request a ceasefire.”
Hezbollah strongly condemned the troika’s step, affirming the illegitimacy of such policies.
“Those behind it cannot be trusted to handle critical issues responsibly, especially in West Asia. This exposes how the UN Security Council has become a platform for arrogant powers to impose their agendas and reveals the falsehood of their claims regarding the enforcement of international law and the preservation of international and regional security. These parties bear full responsibility for all consequences resulting from this action.”
Hezbollah also called on all nations, peoples, and free forces worldwide to reject compliance with these illegal and unethical measures, urging those countries to work seriously to confront Western domination over international institutions, which have become tools in the hands of arrogant and overbearing powers.
“We reiterate our support and solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran under the leadership of Imam Khamenei, and with its government and people, in facing the logic of aggression and arrogance. Iran, which has endured sieges and wars since the victory of its revolution — a model of steadfastness for nations and peoples against imperialist powers, their plans, wars, and crimes — will, by the grace of Allah, overcome this new aggression thanks to the wisdom and courage of its leadership and the awareness and unity of its vigilant people, remaining a beacon for all free peoples in the world,” the statement concluded.
