The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mexico firmly rejected the “baseless accusations” by the United States and the Israeli occupation regime, alleging that Tehran had plotted an attack against the Israeli ambassador in Mexico City.
In an official statement issued on Friday, the embassy stated that “The claim that Iran attempted to assassinate the Zionist ambassador in Mexico is a major media fabrication aimed at undermining the longstanding and friendly relations between Iran and Mexico. We categorically reject these falsehoods.”
The statement emphasized that Tehran and Mexico share mutual interests and deep respect for one another’s sovereignty and security.
“The safety and reputation of Mexico are inseparable from those of Iran,” the embassy declared. “We will never betray the trust placed in us by the Mexican government.”
It added that Iran would not engage in any act that could harm its friendship with the Mexican people, affirming that “to compromise Mexico’s national interests would be to compromise our own. Respecting Mexican laws remains our highest priority.”

Rejecting the ‘Anti-Semitism’ Narrative
The Iranian mission described accusations of anti-Semitism against Iran as “a gross falsehood fabricated by the racist leaders of the Zionist regime.”
According to the embassy, Iran is home to more than 100 synagogues, all open to the public and operating freely without the need for security protection.
The statement further noted that during the Israeli aggression against Iran in June, “not a single verbal or physical incident was recorded against the country’s large Jewish community.”
Mexico Denies Alleged Plot
In a separate development, Mexico’s Foreign and Security ministries issued a joint statement dismissing the claims made by U.S. and Israeli officials about a so-called Iranian plot to attack the Israeli ambassador.
“The Mexican government, through the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Security and Citizen Protection, confirms that it has received no report or intelligence indicating any attempted or planned attack against the Israeli ambassador in Mexico,” the statement said.
The ministries reaffirmed their commitment to cooperate with international partners to ensure the safety of all diplomats, adding:
“We take any potential threat seriously, and we urge the public to rely solely on official information and refrain from spreading rumors.”
