In a forceful address, Iran’s Foreign Ministry has issued a clarion call to Islamic and regional nations, urging them to join political and economic boycott campaigns against ‘Israel’, which it condemned as an occupying, genocidal, and terrorist regime.
Speaking at a weekly press briefing on Wednesday, spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei positioned the move as a moral imperative, stating that any normalization of ties with ‘Israel’ equates to legitimizing its crimes and aggression. He asserted that a global shift is already underway, with nations inside and outside the Islamic world severing relations in response to Israel’s actions.
A Unified Front Against Crimes of the Century
Baghaei pointed to the recent Arab-Islamic emergency summit in Doha as evidence of a unified regional concern and reiterated Iran’s support for forming a regional security bloc—an “Islamic NATO”—to counter threats to peace. He accused ‘Israel’ of blatantly violating international law, including the UN Charter, by launching military attacks on up to ten countries in recent months.
The spokesperson framed the global outrage over Gaza as a catalyst for change, praising aid flotillas attempting to break the Israeli siege not as symbolic gestures, but as part of a “broader awakening” that highlights the failure of international organizations. He called on individuals worldwide to recognize their moral responsibility in opposing what he termed “the crime of the century.”
US Accomplice with ‘Israel’ in Genocidal War
Baghaei said the United States is directly complicit in the ongoing genocide in Gaza, noting that Israel’s ground offensive launched in Gaza City on Tuesday coincided with the US Secretary of State’s visit to the region, which along with other issues show Washington’s complicity.
These attacks occurred under the supervision of American officials, the official added.
He also referenced findings from a UN Human Rights Council commission, which concluded that the events in Gaza meet the criteria for genocide under international law.
