Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance bloc MP Ali Ammar affirmed that the resistance’s arms “are legitimate, both constitutionally and legally, especially with the ongoing Israeli occupation and aggression.”
In an interview with Al-Manar on Friday, MP Ammar said that “whoever seeks to delegitimize the resistance’s weapon is illegitimate himself, based on the United Nations Charter and the Constitution.”
“The resistance gave the Lebanese State an opportunity during which the latter has not yet been able to stop the Israeli aggression, liberate the Lebanese territory and release the prisoners,” Ammar told Al-Manar’s Hadith Al-Sa’a (Talk of the Hour).
The Hezbollah MP warned against a scheme aimed at sowing discord between the resistance and the national army, stressing that such foreign-backed plan is futile.
“There is a group in the government that has been pushing towards a clash between the resistance and the army. Such clash risks the civil peace.”
“Whoever bets on sowing discord between the army and the resistance is delusional, and this will never happen,” MP Ammar affirmed.
The Hezbollah MP, meanwhile, voiced the resistance party’s readiness to discuss the national defense strategy.
He pointed, in this context, to some sides in Lebanon who are submit to foreign dictates, stressing: “Disarming the resistance can only be achieved by taking away all of our lives.”
“The resistance won’t allow anyone to drag it into a civil war,” he stated, warning that “the civil war won’t be in favor of those who are seeking it.”
On the other hand, MP Ammar affirmed that the Hezbollah resistance is fully ready to confront any Israeli aggression on Lebanon.

Earlier on Friday, the Lebanese Government convened in which it “welcomed” the plan to “confine arms to Lebanese State”, a term used referring to disarm the Lebanese resistance. However, the cabinet did not set a timeframe for implementation and cautioned that the army had limited capabilities. Such development was seen by Speaker Nabih Berri as positive. He was quoted by local media as saying: “Things are positive… and I believe the toxic winds have started to subside. What happened regarding the military plan for the army preserved civil peace.”
