The foreign minister arrived late on Sunday to hold talks with Putin and senior Russian officials and discuss the development of the situation in the Middle East and in the world after the US and Israeli strikes on Iran.
Unprovoked aggression against Iran has no basis or justification, Putin stated during a meeting with Araghchi.
Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in Moscow on Monday, Araqchi said Iran and Russia have always worked in cooperation, consulted with each other, and coordinate their stances on various issues.
It is necessary for Iran and Russia to adopt more careful, more serious and closer stances amid the current regional conditions, he said.
Denouncing the US military attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites as an act of aggression, Araqchi praised Russia for condemning the US strikes in the strongest term.
Under the current circumstances that the international system is being jeopardized, the consultations between Iran and Russia will be highly significant, he said. “We will try to coordinate our stances.”
