Hezbollah Secretary General Sheik Naim Qassem issued on Thursday a statement to comment on the Israeli-American aggression against Iran.
Sheikh Qassem stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran represents a prominent global beacon of support for the oppressed and the resistance and provision of full backing for the liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem (Al-Quds), adding that this is a precious experience of faith, morality, and independence.
“The arrogant tyrants, led by America, could not tolerate this pioneering humanitarian model for the free people of the world. Nor could they tolerate the steadfastness of Khomeini’s Iran and the great people for forty-six years in the face of all forms of aggression and siege. Nor could they tolerate Iran’s political, economic, and scientific renaissance and its achievement of an advanced level of defensive capabilities. This reliance on its own strength, relying on God Almighty, and the rallying of its people around the inspired, wise, and courageous leadership represented by the great religious authority and Supreme Leader, Imam Khamenei (may his shadow endure). The tyrants could not tolerate Iran inspiring the resistance fighters eager to liberate their land, especially in Palestine, Lebanon, and the region, and supporting them at all costs and consequences. For its support for justice and the cause of our time, Palestine.”
“What is the flimsy pretext for the Israeli aggression, decided upon by America and supported by it and the tyrants of the world?” Sheikh Qassem asked, considering that the pretext is uranium enrichment and its nuclear program for peaceful purposes, which it seeks to serve and advance its people.
“This is a right guaranteed by international laws and the International Atomic Energy Agency. It does not harm anyone in the slightest. Rather, it represents a great scientific contribution to the advancement of Iran and the region, relying on its own capabilities without foreign tutelage.”
Global arrogance does not want Iran to be a beacon of faith, knowledge, and freedom that shines throughout the region and the world, and that would be beneficial to Iran and the oppressed, Hezbollah Secretary General maintained.
The US President’s threat to attack the supreme religious authority and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei (may his shadow endure), and to attack the Islamic Republic of Iran, is an aggression against all the peoples of the region and the free people of the world, Sheikh Qassem affirmed.
“America is leading the region into chaos and instability, and the world into open crises, and will only bring it shame, disgrace, and failure. Iran has the right to defend itself, and the peoples of the region and the free people of the world have the right to stand with the great leader and with Iran in one trench.”
Sheikh Qassem emphasized that Hezbollah and the Islamic Resistance do not resort to neutrality in the battle between Iran’s legitimate rights and independence and America’s falsehood and aggression, along with the cancerous tumor of ‘Israel’ and the arrogant powers.
“We stand by Iran in confronting this global injustice because we stand for our independence, the liberation of our land, and the freedom of our decisions and choices. We are not neutral, and therefore we express our position alongside Iran, its leadership, and its people, and we will act as we deem appropriate in the face of this brutal Israeli-American aggression.”
Sheikh Qassem called on all free people, the oppressed, the resistance fighters, scholars, and those with sound opinions to raise their voices loudly and demonstrate strength, courage, and support by rallying around the noblest and most honorable leadership of Imam Khamenei (may his shadow endure) and with the brave and generous Iranian people.
Our unity is the way to thwart the hegemonic projects and contribute to thwarting the goals of the aggression, his eminence affirmed.
“The tyrannical United States and the criminal Israel will not be able to subjugate the Iranian people and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. This is an invincible people, and the past days of Israeli aggression have proven the resilience of this people and their defiance of all pressures. It also demonstrated Israel’s impotence and the heavy losses it is suffering for the first time in seventy-seven years of occupying Palestine, and its eagerness to seek America’s support in its aggression. However, this does not absolve us from the responsibility of standing by Iran and with all forms of support that contribute to putting an end to this tyranny and oppression.”
Sheikh Qassem concluded his statement with the Coranic verse that follows:
God Almighty said: “Those to whom the people said, ‘Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them.’ But it only increased them in faith, and they said, ‘Sufficient for us is God, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs.'” (Al Imran, 173).
