The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, announced on Wednesday that its fighters destroyed an Israeli military vehicle using a high-powered explosive device known as “Thaqib” in the town of Abasan, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
Joint Operations with Al-Qassam Brigades
In a separate joint operation, fighters from the Al-Quds Brigades and the Al-Qassam Brigades—the armed wing of Hamas—claimed responsibility for sniping a Zionist soldier in Abasan Al-Kabira, also east of Khan Younis. According to their statement, the soldier was killed instantly, prompting the deployment of Israeli helicopters to evacuate personnel from the area.
The Al-Qassam Brigades also issued a statement on Tuesday, detailing an operation in which fighters targeted Israeli forces with mortar shells in the Al-Sater Al-Gharbi area of Khan Younis. Additionally, the group reported launching a salvo of rockets at the Israeli military site known as “Mars,” located east of Khan Younis.
Both factions confirmed another joint operation conducted Tuesday in Abasan, where two Israeli armored personnel carriers were destroyed using “Shawaz” explosive devices. The attack set the vehicles ablaze and triggered another helicopter evacuation by Israeli occupation forces.

Attacks Expand to Gaza City and Northern Gaza
Elsewhere in the Gaza Strip, resistance fighters launched mortar shells at Israeli occupation troops stationed on Al-Muntar Hill, east of the Shuja’iyya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City. The Al-Quds Brigades reported direct hits on Israeli positions during that engagement.
In a related development, the Brigades announced that they had seized an Israeli reconnaissance drone near Imam Ali Mosque in Shuja’iyya while it was conducting surveillance operations.
Separately, the Al-Quds Brigades’ military media released footage showing the destruction of an Israeli tank using a barrel-type explosive device during a ground incursion in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza.
The video documents a fighter preparing and detonating the device, which reportedly resulted in the complete destruction of the tank and the deaths of those inside.
