Lovers of Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah have filled the streets of Beirut and Dahiyeh on Sunday to take part in the funeral of the late Hezbollah leader and his successor, Secretary General Martyr Sayyed Hashem Safieddine.
Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium and the surrounding area were crowded with mourners in a scene described as a sea of people who flocked to the Lebanese capital and the its southern suburb, Dahiyeh.
Al-Manar correspondent said the stadium’s stands were almost filled since dawn on Sunday, with photos and videos showing the unprecedented gathering going viral on social media.

Dressed in Black, mourners raised Lebanese, Palestinian, Hezbollah and Amal flags, as well as photos of the martyred leaders and the fighters who fell during the latest Israeli aggression on Lebanon.
The funeral officially started at 13:00 (Beirut time) with masses at the stadium chanting in tribute to Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem, renewing allegiance to the path of resistance.
Holy Quran was recited at the beginning of the official funeral which was personally attended by Speaker Nabih Berri. The Lebanese parliament speaker was also representing President Joseph Aoun. Lebanese, regional officials and activists as well as popular crowds attended the mass funeral.
Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Al-Hosseini then read Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei’s letter to the funeral.
Mourners at the sports city then broke in tears as the coffins entered the stadium. Chants of “At your service O’ Nasrallah,” and “We Shall Keep the covenant” were clearly heard by the crowds.

Crowds Defy Israeli Warplanes
As the vehicle carrying the holy coffins was touring the stadium, at least four Israeli warplanes were spotted as they flew over low altitude over Beirut, in a clear message of intimidation.
The crowds responded with chants: “Humiliation, Never,” and “Death to Israel.”
Following the desperate Israeli intimidation attempt, Sheikh Naim Qassem appeared via giant screens installed at the stadium and the surrounding area, as well as all the way to the site where Sayyed Nasrallah is to be laid to rest near the Airport Road.
Sheikh Qassem praised the esteemed martyred leaders, vowing to keep the path of resistance after them. His eminent stressed that the resistance group is persistent and strong, pledging to confront the Israeli occupation.
Head of Hezbollah’s Juristic Council Sheikh Mohammad Yazbek then led funeral prayers of Sayyed Nasrallah and Sayyed Safeiddine.
As the mourners finalized funeral prayers, the march to the burial site set off.

Sayyed Safieddine will be laid to rest on Monday in his southern hometown of Deir Qanoun Al-Nahr.
Beirut’s Dahiyeh was boiling with sorrow on Saturday as mourners flocked to the area to take part in the funeral.
