In al-Quds, the situation grew more dire as Israeli occupation forces conducted a raid in the town of Hizma, resulting in the arrest of Zuhair Rajabi, head of the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood committee in Silwan. Rajabi was reportedly assaulted during the arrest, sustaining a head injury.
These raids are part of a broader Israeli campaign of daily incursions and settler violence across the West Bank and al-Quds, occurring alongside the ongoing genocide in Gaza. The aggressive actions of the IOF have sparked fierce opposition from Palestinian Resistance fighters.
IOF detains 40 Palestinians from the West Bank
Israeli occupation forces have conducted a series of detentions since yesterday evening until this morning, detaining at least 40 individuals from the West Bank, including former prisoners.
In a joint statement, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) and the Authority of the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners disclosed that the detentions took place across the occupied West Bank.
The statement explained that ongoing Israeli incursions involve widespread raids, severe beatings, threats against detainees and their families, as well as instances of property destruction and sabotage in civilian homes.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, “Israel” has killed over 620 Palestinians in the West Bank since October 7, 2023, including 145 children and 9 women. A report from the Palestinian Prisoners Society in July revealed that the number of detainees has surpassed 9,800, with approximately 340 women and at least 680 children among them.
