With polling places open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Interior Ministry may extend voting hours if necessary. The runoff election was triggered after no candidate secured a clear majority in the initial vote on June 28.
Leading candidates Masoud Pezeshkian and Saeed Jalili are vying for the presidency, with both failing to secure an outright majority in the first round. Pezeshkian, a former health minister, and Jalili, a seasoned diplomat, are now competing to lead the nation following the tragic passing of President Raisi in May.
