The Yemeni Armed Forces have launched new operations targeting three vessels in nearby waters, including an American destroyer, using missiles and drones.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni army, made the announcement in a late Sunday statement.
General Saree stated that the operations were a response to Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and retaliatory measures against US and UK aggression towards Yemen.
The first operation targeted an American destroyer with several ballistic missiles, Saree detailed. The second operation struck the ship Captain Paris with multiple naval missiles. Both operations took place in the Red Sea.
He explained that the targeted ship attempted to violate the Yemeni army’s ban on access to ports in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The third operation, conducted by the Yemeni army’s “Unmanned Air Force” unit, targeted the Happy Condor ship in the Arabian Sea using drones. The company owning Happy Condor was also attempting to breach the ban on entry into ports in occupied Palestine.
Saree emphasized that the Yemeni Armed Forces will continue their operations in solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza and in response to US and UK aggression against Yemen. He stated that these operations will only cease when the Israeli onslaught on Gaza stops and the siege of the territory is lifted.
