Hezbollah is stepping up strikes against Israeli posts along the Lebanon border, as the Lebanese resistance group introduces a new heavy rocket named after prominent Hezbollah fighter, Jihad Mughniyeh.
Hezbollah fighters carried out so far on Monday two strikes targeting Israeli sites, the group’s Military Media announced.
The first attack, early on Monday (at 06:20), was a drone strike that targeted the newly established Israeli outpost where enemy soldiers of the Division 91’s reservist artillery battalion sleep, south of Beit Hillel, the first statement read.
The strike employed a number of explosive-laden drones, inflicting confirmed casualties among the enemy soldiers, the statement added.
Israeli occupation army confirmed the drone strike, saying that two explosive-laden drones launched from Lebanon struck an area near Beit Hillel, noting that no sirens had sounded in towns amid the incident.
The Islamic Resistance fighters then, at 10:35, fired anti-tank guided missile targeting an Israeli Merkava at Yiftah Bararcks, the second statement read.
Israeli media reported that four Zionist soldiers were injured on the missile strike on Yiftah. Ziv Hospital in Safed says four troops were brought to the medical center after being wounded in the attack near Kibbutz Yiftah, The Times of Israel reported.
Later at 12:00, direct hits were achieved as the Islamic Resistance fighters fired artillery shells at Israeli soldiers stationed at Birkat Risha Israeli site.
At 13:00, the Islamic Resistance fighters set up a fiery ambush against a force of enemy soldiers. Upon reaching the ambush point west of Branit Barracks, the fighters targeted them with rocket weapons and artillery shells, causing confirmed injuries.
The Islamic Resistance fighters, later at 13:20, targeted with guided weapons a chamber equipped with spy devices beside Al-Jerdah site when a number of Israeli enemy soldiers entered it, the fifth statement read, adding that the chamber was destroyed, and the soldiers inside it were either killed or injured.
The latest statement, issued by Hezbollah military media, mentioned that Islamic Resistance fighters targeted, at 05:05 pm on Monday, May 13, 2024, Al-Samaqa site in the occupied Lebanese hills of Kfarshouba with rocket weapons, hitting it directly.
The strikes are “in support of the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in solidarity with their brave and honorable resistance,” the statements said on Monday.
“Jihad Mughniyeh” Rockets
Earlier on Sunday, Hezbollah unveiled a heavy rocket named after Jihad Mughniyeh, the son of senior Hezbollah leader Imad Mughniyeh who was assassinated on February 12, 2008 near the Syrian capital, Damascus.
Hezbollah’s Military Media announced that the Islamic Resistance fighters targeted the deployment of Israeli soldiers in the vicinity of Zibdine site in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms with new heavy rockets Jihad Mughniyeh, inflicting direct hits.
This is the first time Hezbollah announces this kind of rockets used in operations in support of the people and the resistance of Gaza.
The strike on Zibdine was second of three attacks Hezbollah fighters staged on Sunday.
The first strike on Sunday saw the Islamic Resistance fighters targeting a military vehicle carrying espionage equipment, and other technical equipment at Hounin Barracks, also known as Ramim. The strike on Hounin employed guided missiles, resulting in a direct hit that led to the destruction of the vehicle and other equipment, according to a statement released by Hezbollah’s Military Media.
The third strike on Sunday was a missile attack on Al-Malkiya Israeli site.
Meanwhile on Sunday, Hezbollah’s Military Media released two videos showing precise strikes which Hezbollah fighters staged earlier.
