As Hezbollah continues striking the Israeli military sites and settlements in the north of occupied Palestine, the Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant attempted to reduce the effects of the Lebanese group’s operations on the Zionists by spreading allegations about inflicting losses upon Hezbollah.
Gallant’s allegations failed to change the situation in the North evacuated by dozens of thousands of settlers who criticized their defense minister and described his remarks as fruitless.
Margaliot mayor, Itan bin David said that the Israeli government is not administering the battle in the North, citing its failure to provide the electric power and fight the fire caused by Hezbollah missiles.
“I do not trust Gallant and his remarks. We have been evacuated for six months.”
Israeli Channel 11 reporter said that the problem in the North is deep, adding that he inquired the settlers there about the situation.
“Some settlers confirmed that they would never enroll their children in the Northern schools, which may lead to a total collapse in that area.”
Head of Upper Galilee regional council Giora Zaltzsaid that all the Israeli threats are fruitless, stressing that the only right decision that could be taken by the government is returning the settlers to the North.
Shimon Biton, a settler living in Avivim, said that Gallant’s remarks are unrealistic and do not reassure the settlers, adding that he does not believe the Israeli officials.
Yair Golan, former deputy chief of staff, indicated that the current situation has made ‘Israel’ establish a security belt and evacuate dozens of thousands of settlers.
This is very humiliating.”
Head of the Zionist opposition, Yair Lapid, said that the government has failed in Gaza and the North, describing the northern settlements as ghost cities.
The US envoy Amos Hochstein told me that the worst situation in north would be after the ceasefire if the situation does not change.”
