The Zionist entity is floundering over the ongoing repercussions of the Gaza war and the fronts opened by the Axis of Resistance in support to the besieged enclave, especially the front in south Lebanon.
Critical voices started to emerge within the Israeli military establishment. In rare and harsh remarks directed at Israeli political leaders, the commander of the Israeli Occupation Forces’ (IOF) 98th Division Brig. Gen. Dan Goldfus delivered on Wednesday an off-script remarks that were not approved by the occupation military.
“I ask at this opportunity to address our leaders, from both sides, and I hope that they will have the time to listen to the heart of a soldier,” Goldfus said during a press conference on the Gaza border.
He said he has been fighting since the morning of Hamas’s October 7 attack, Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
“We bow our heads over our resounding failure on October 7,” Goldfus said in remarks carried by the Israeli media.
“But you, you need to be worthy of us. You need to be worthy of the soldiers who lost their lives. You need to be worthy of the reservists who don’t care what [political] side they are on, and fought and fight alongside each other,” he continued.

“Make sure that everyone takes part, you must,” he said, apparently referring to the exemption of ultra-Orthodox Israelis from service.
“Make sure that everyone takes part, that we will not return to October 6, that all the effort was not in vain,” the Israeli commander added.
Commander to Be Questioned
Goldfus’s remarks to Israeli political leaders were read from a separate handwritten notebook, after he had completed reading a prepared speech on the division’s operations in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis, The Times of Israel reported.
The initial speech was approved by the Israeli army’s Spokesperson’s Unit, but the additional remarks were not, it added.
“The remarks by the officer at the end of his statement were not approved by his superiors,” the occupation army said.
Goldfus has been summoned for a “clarification conversation” with Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi tomorrow over his off-script remarks in a press conference yesterday, the occupation military said Thursday, according to the Israeli media outlet.
Commenting on Goldfus critique, Hebrew-language Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth said the remarks by the senior commander Remarks are “not less than a scandal”, noting that “he emerged to give a lecture over losing control, the prominent failure which have been facing the Israeli army since October 7.”
Event Cancelled over Fears of Hezbollah attack
Meanwhile on Thursday, the Israeli occupation Home Front Command has ordered the cancellation of a planned memorial event next week on Mount Meron, due to fears of Hezbollah rocket and missile attacks.
The occupation military said the event is canceled “per the assessment of the situation in the IDF, and in coordination with the other relevant bodies,” referring to the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF).
Some 30,000 people had been expected to participate in the event on Sunday and Monday, Israeli media reported.
Hezbollah has attacked Mount Meron, which is located some eight kilometers (5 miles) from the Lebanon border, several times amid the ongoing war, launching large barrages of rockets at the mountain, as well as missiles at a military base that sits atop it.
“The commander of the Home Front Command, Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, requests that police enforce the ban and prevent crowds from reaching the site,” The Times of Israel reported.
