Israeli media continued reporting on the damage inflicted upon the Zionist northern settlements by Hezbollah missiles. Ynet reported on Thursday that “more than 500 homes and buildings were damaged from Hezbollah fire since the war began.”
Citing data collected by the occupation authorities, the Israeli news website noted that “most suffered relatively little damage, caused by shrapnel or blast wave, others were completely destroyed.”
Ynet said that Hezbollah began using heavy missiles in the past week, including Burkan and Falaq-1. It named the so-called Shlomi, in the Western Galilee, as a settlement “to suffer greatly” from Hezbollah missiles.
Last weekend, some 50 homes were damaged when Burkan missiles targeted a nearby military post, according to the Israeli news website.
It quoted the settlement’s mayor, Gabi Neeman, as saying: “The use of Burkan missiles is more frequent and we are in real danger.”
Hezbollah’s Burkan, entered to service last November, is a short-range heavy rocket, able to carry a powerful warhead and cause substantial damage.
“Such a missile that lands in a populated area, can destroy entire buildings, Neeman said.
“I expected that after four months of the IDF fighting Hezbollah, we would not be under such fire. Its time for the military to go into Lebanon and demonstrate its force.”
Ynet said that 43 houses in Kiryat Shmona, the biggest city in the Upper Galille, further to the east, have been hit.
“The city takes fire everyday and when we are not hit, neighboring communities are,” Kiryat Shmona’s Mayor Avichai Stern told Ynet.
“The armaments used by Hezbollah have been getting more sophisticated and are nothing like in previous wars,” he added.
According to the Hebrew version of Ynet report, 131 Israeli houses in Mutela were damaged, 130 in Shlomi, 121 in Menara, 43 in Kiryat Shmona, 37 in Shtula, 25 in Zari’t, 11 in Avivim, 9 in Malkiyeh and 5 in Hanita.
In this context, Hezbollah military media announced that the Islamic Resistance fighters targeted the surveillance equipment at Al-Radar site in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms with appropriate weapons at 09:00 AM on Thursday, February 1, 2024, causing a direct hit.
In a second statement, Hezbollah military media announced that the Islamic Resistance fighters targeted at 04:12 PM on Thursday, February 1, 2024, Al-Ramtha site in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms with missile weapons, causing a direct hit.
Hezbollah military media issued a third statement to announce that the Islamic Resistance fighters targeted at 03:55 PM on Thursday, February 1, 2024, Al-Sammaqa site in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms with missile weapons, causing a direct hit.
