House Speaker Nabih Berri stressed commented on the negative atmosphere which resulted from the meeting of quintet committee in New York pertaining the Lebanese presidential elections.

In a press interview published on Friday, Speaker Berri said that the Lebanese parties awaited a positive result from the meeting, but that the conferees reached a disagreement and almost needed reconciliation efforts.

Regarding the Qatari initiative, Speaker Berri said that Doha envoy is in Beirut, but that none has contacted him (Berri) yet.

The House Speaker pointed out that his dialogue initiative has not witnessed any progress because, he added, the two parties (Free Patriotic Movement and Lebanese Forces) directly concerned with the entitlement rejected it.
