Iraq’s volunteer fighters, Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), managed to foil a massive offensive by Takfiri ISIL terrorists on town west of Tal Afar, inflicting heavy losses upon the insurgents
The Takfiris aimed through the attack to open a way in a bid to flee the area into Syria because they have been besieged by Iarqi forces, PMF media center reported.
Fierce clashes between the PMF (which is also known as Hashd Shaabi) and the terrorists lasted for six hours.
Dozens of insurgents were killed in the attack, including ISIL commanders who were calling their command for help but there was no answer, PMF media center said.
The Hashd forces also managed to destroy 17 ISIL vehicles, according to its media center.
The Iraqi army and volunteer fighters have been leading a large operation to retake Mosul since October 17.
The northern city of Mosul fell to ISIL terrorists in 2014, when the terror group began its campaign mass carnage and destruction in the Arab country.
