The Israeli occupation forces today detained at least 13 Palestinians in the occupied territories, eight of them from the Jerusalem area, according to various sources.
In addition to the eight who were detained from Shaafat refugee camp and nearby Anata, two others were detained from the town of Yatta in the southern West Bank Hebron governorate, one from the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, and another from the town of Habla, south of Qalqilya in the north of the West Bank.
Soldiers also detained a 27-year-old Palestinian in a raid at his home in the ancient city of Jericho, east of the West Bank.
The Palestinian prisoner Fuad Shawbaky was released by the occupation authorities on Monday after 17 years in jail. General Al-Shawbaky was a security official and a member of Fatah movement.
