Member of the DPRK’s State Affairs Commission, Kim Yo Jong warned that those who doubt North Korea’s missile capabilities will soon be able to see what they can do, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
Kim Yo Jong said this in an article that criticized Seoul and foreign experts who questioned the performance of North Korean missile and satellite technologies.
On a similar note, Pyongyang has recently carried out numerous ballistic missile tests.
Kim Jong Un’s sister also denied statements by unnamed foreign experts who doubted that satellite systems, also tested by North Korea, were able to operate normally, according to KCNA. She also reiterated that North Korea was not afraid of sanctions.
Last month, state media reported that Kim has called South Korea’s President and government “idiots” and a “faithful dog” of the United States, saying this after Seoul considered imposing new unilateral sanctions against DPRK in response to recent missile tests, including an intercontinental ballistic missile launch.
“This disgusting act shows more clearly that the south Korean group is a ‘faithful dog’ and stooge of the US,” Kim said in a statement carried out by KCNA.
“I wonder what ‘sanctions’ the south Korean group, no more than a running wild dog on a bone given by the US, impudently impose on the DPRK,” she said. “What a spectacle sight!”
Two days ago, the DPRK fired two ballistic missiles, Seoul’s military reported, days after Pyongyang announced a successful test of a solid-fuel motor for a new weapons system.
South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said two ballistic missiles that had been fired from the Tongchang-ri area in North Pyongan province were detected.
The missiles were fired from 11:13 am (0213 GMT) to 12:05 pm into the East Sea, referring to the body of water also known as the Sea of Japan, as per the JCS statement.
“Our military has strengthened surveillance and vigilance while closely cooperating with the United States and maintaining a full readiness posture,” the JCS added.
