Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko remarked that NATO was an organization that could not exist without an enemy.
“NATO is such an organization that cannot live without an enemy. Without an enemy it will die. The most important [for it] is to create an image of the enemy and moving toward borders of this potential enemy,” Grushko said.
The Northern Alliance is currently expanding onto new regions and organizing its military infrastructure around China, Grushko noted: “Now they already declared Asia a zone of the alliance’s interests and moved their defense zone to the borders of China,” the deputy minister added.
On Sunday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the United States and NATO member states were trying to intervene in the region of ASEAN and establish military alliances to deter China and Russia.
Last week, the 19fortyfive newsletter said NATO has significantly increased its military activity in the Arctic region over growing concerns about Russia’s alleged actions in that region.
According to the website, “It appears that the US Navy and Royal Navy are currently sending their aircraft carriers as a sign that they are closely monitoring Moscow’s actions in the region,” completely disregarding what they could actually be there for.
The article added that NATO has sent the aircraft carrier into the Arctic circle in the hopes that the UK Royal Navy would“push the boundaries of UK carrier operations in the cold, harsh environment,” according to the ship’s commanding officer.
The US and British navies, two of the alliance’s strongest, have also confirmed their renewed interest in the region with a greater presence in the north, most notably with the significant deployments of their aircraft carriers.
Last August, the United States announced the establishment of the position of Arctic ambassador to boost diplomatic efforts.
