A Victory Forged by “Strategic Solidarity”
Qalibaf hailed the backing from global powers as a direct result of Iran’s years of “resistance and progress” in the face of “oppressive sanctions.” He pointed to a joint letter from the foreign ministers of Iran, Russia, and China to the United Nations as a powerful symbol of this new alliance. The letter, he said, explicitly declares the efforts by three European countries to activate the so-called “snapback” mechanism as “legally invalid.”
“With the formal recognition of Iran’s right to enrichment, the country’s nuclear file has been removed from the Security Council’s agenda,” Qalibaf told the parliamentary session, marking the expiration of all restrictions under UN Security Council Resolution 2231.

As China and Russia —two permanent members of the Security Council— have stood firmly alongside Iran, the era of US and Western unilateralism has come to an end, the Parliament speaker noted.
He said the structure of the international system is showing signs of a new era in which China, Russia, Iran, and 120 Non-Aligned Movement countries have legally ended the misuse of international organizations’ mechanisms and stood against the unlawful imposition of will and coercion by the US and a few European countries.
This diplomatic triumph, according to Qalibaf, signals that the global balance of power is now divided, with major UN Security Council members standing firmly with Iran against Western pressure.
