Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri affirmed on Saturday Lebanon’s commitment to the mechanism adopted by the committee which oversees the November 2024 ceasefire with the Israeli enemy.
In remarks to Lebanese daily Al-Jomhouriya, Speaker Berri emphasized the importance of consensus among all Lebanese parties.
He stressed that internal stability and unity among Lebanese citizens are crucial for achieving national interests and overcoming external challenges, particularly regarding the Israeli enemy.
The committee is headed by the US and includes Lebanon, France and ‘Israel’ as members, as well as the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), and is also tasked with overseeing the implementation of UN Security Council resolution 1701.
The Israeli enemy continues to bomb Lebanon, mainly the country’s south, almost daily and maintains occupation over five posts along the southern border, in violation of a ceasefire deal reached following a brutal 66-day Israeli war between September and November 2024.

At least three people were martyred in Israeli attacks on south Lebanon on Friday, a day after Israeli strikes on south Lebanon and Bekaa killed four people.
