The Lebanese parliament held on Thursday a session to read and discuss the letter of the outgoing President Michel Aoun, who had called on the House to revoke the Najib Mikati’s designation to form a new government.
It is worth noting that A9un’s presidential term ended on Monday, October 31.
The parliament asked the government to keep carrying out its caretaker mission in accordance with the constitutional rules.
Meanwhile, House Speaker Nabih Berri set Thursday, November 10, as a date for a parliamentary session aimed at electing a new president.
The parliament had held four sessions to elect a new president without reaching an agreement among the various blocs on the candidate.
