Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati delivered Lebanon’s speech at the Arab League Summit held in Algeria on Wednesday, in which he said that the country has changed and it is suffering at the economic, livelihood, social and environmental levels.
“We pin hopes on our Arab brothers to help Lebanon,” he implored.
“We renew our commitment to the Taif Agreement and we will not be lenient towards attempts to tamper with its essence,” he added.
Mikati also hoped that the maritime border demarcation deal will pave the way for Lebanon’s prosperity and for a consensus over a new president of the republic.
The 31st Arab Summit kicked off on Tuesday in Algeria with participation of Lebanese caretaker premier Mikati and several Arab Leaders and presidents.
