Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian once again denied reports of Iran providing unmanned aerial vehicles to Russia.
In a phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba on Friday, Amir Abdollahian said that Tehran’s position on Ukraine is based on the principle of refraining from providing weapons to the conflicting parties.
“Our policy towards developments in Ukraine is based on respect for the territorial integrity of countries, refusal to provide weapons to conflicting parties and the need to end military activities,” Hossein Amir-Abdollahian pointed out.
“Iran’s foreign policy is perfectly clear: it rejects hostilities,” he noted, adding that Tehran had repeatedly expressed readiness to facilitate efforts to find a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine. In this regard, the Iranian top diplomat urged Ukraine “to be cautious to avoid falling under the influence of extremist-minded European politicians.”
He once again denied reports of Iran providing unmanned aerial vehicles to Russia, highlighting Tehran’s willingness “to hold joint meetings involving military experts” to discuss those allegations.
